Greetings Family and Friends,
Well, we are over the half way point in the lecture phase of the Discipleship Training School here in Perth. We have concluded weekly themes such as "The Character of God”, “Hearing God’s Voice”, “Bible Unity”, to name a few. It has been both exhileratiing and exhausting time for us to say the least.
We put to practice what we learn throughout the week through street evangelism, intercessory prayer, worship services and we each present a chapel talk. We also have small groups, one on one accountability, journal writing and book reports due. Add living in a converted warehouse with 3 families with no windows or air conditioning in an average temperature of 90 to 105 degrees and you have a partial picture of our time and place here in YWAM Perth. Taking in account all of the above, we still feel blessed and honored to be here.
Thank you for your prayers in regards to our children's education, we have decided to home school Gabriel and Emilia. Due to Isabelle’s learning disability, auditory processing disorder, we feel she learns better in a structured environment, therefore she is now attending Rehoboth Christian School just west of town from the base. All our kids are doing fine and also participate on base. Gabriel has been working with property and maintenance and Emilia in hospitality and kitchen duties (no surprise there!). This is made possible since we home school them.
Last week, we were given our locations for our outreach phase of the school. For the first 5-6 weeks, starting the week of March 29th, we will be in Papua New Guinea. The other half of the outreach phase will be in the Tonga Islands in the South Pacific serving at a YWAM base there with specific ministries yet to be determined. We will then be back in Perth around June 14-16.We are very excited and anticipate great things as God leads our family and our team. We continue to depend on God’s faithfulness for His provision. We are at 80% of our goal for funding and believe God will provide the remainder needed. Please continue to pray that our support will come through.
Thank you again for your many prayers and your faithful financial support of us. We definitely sense your love and support behind us back home, cheering us on and making it possible for us to be here. We are most grateful for you and we continue to pray for you.
Peace+

Montoya Family,
ReplyDeleteWhat a joy to read about what God is doing with you all in Perth. We continue to pray that you will indeed experience God each step of the way - and that this preparation will be invaluable for the work ahead. This blog site is a great way for us to keep up with you. I look forward to future entries.

WOW!!! How fun is that! Do the kids go along to PNG and Tonga? What about Isabelle's school during that time? So - I'll pray... for cooler weather... for the ability to study and absorb... for peace and harmony in your living space... but mostly for God's continued presence! Can I hear an AMEN!?!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! I'll keep you all in my prayers, and I am so happy to hear that you guys are finding joy in service. I am going to bookmark this, and I hope that you guys keep it updated frequently. God is definitely doing something in your family, and I pray that as you see it blossoming it becomes a fountain of hope and peace for you when things get hard. GOD BLESS!
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic news. We know it is difficult yet experiencing God's Grace can not be compared. Remember that God is able when we are able to do nothing in ourselves. Be strong through His strenght. Love you guys.
ReplyDeleteWow! Its amazing how quickly the hand of God works when we follow his plans.
ReplyDeleteAmen, Montoyas. It's a joy to be on this journey with you.
